Traditionally, pressure gauges and transmitters are calibrated by removing them from the production line and transporting them to a laboratory for calibration using deadweight testers or reference instruments.
This approach comes with several disadvantages:
- It interrupts production and requires system shutdowns
- It increases handling and transport time
- It introduces additional uncertainty due to reinstallation
- It increases the risk of contamination and damage
In practice, traditional pressure calibration is time-consuming and resource-intensive, especially for complex or high-volume installations.
Insacal Pressure Rig Solution
With our Insacal Pressure Rig portfolie, you can bring the calibration laboratory directly into your production area.
By performing calibration on-site, the rig eliminates unnecessary transport and allows pressure instruments to be calibrated under real operating conditions. Once connected to power, pressure gas and the unit under test (UUT), the rig is ready to perform calibration automatically.
The automated calibration process follows a predefined sequence, ensuring consistent execution and eliminating operator-dependent variations.
Traceable Calibration Principle
The Pressure Calibration Rig operates by generating a controlled reference pressure and directly comparing it with the UUT.
A highly accurate and stable pressure controller generates the reference pressure and monitors the specified setpoints. The controller prevents over- and undershooting and ensures that each calibration point is reached and stabilised before measurement.
The calibration sequence is executed automatically and can be configured to follow the user’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Results are compared against the built-in reference, ensuring repeatable and traceable calibration results with laboratory-level accuracy.
