At LEO Pharma, they often experienced problems maintaining a stable flow during their flow calibrations, because the flow was influenced by external factors – for example, if the pressure from their water supply was not stable. Therefore, they turned to us for advice.

Unstable Flow and Unnecessary Water Consumption

LEO Pharma previously performed flow calibrations by using water from the supply network, running it through a mobile flow trolley, and then through the flow meter that needed calibrating. In some cases, the water was not reused. This approach sometimes resulted in unstable flow and unnecessary water usage. Moreover, the method was time-consuming, because the technician had to spend extra effort to achieve a stable flow during calibration.

Short Settling Time and Multiple Simultaneous Calibrations

As a result, they approached us for a new solution. The solution became a portable flow trolley with control and a frequency converter. The system consists of a tank in a closed loop, which ensures that the pump continuously runs and maintains the correct pressure. This way, LEO Pharma achieves a very short settling time for the flow rate, and they get a system that allows their technicians to perform several stable and more precise calibrations – in the same time that they previously used for just one.
In short, the system does the work for them, and at the same time they avoid sending the clean water directly to the sewer after use – making the solution far more sustainable!

For us, it was natural to ask Insatech for advice — their knowledge and experience with flow calibration is extensive and versatile. Their in‑house developed solutions create value for us in terms of stability, accuracy, and precision. At the same time, the user interfaces on their products are intuitive and innovative. A Tailor‑Made and Tested Solution

LEO Pharma’s new flow calibration trolley is, of course, dimensioned according to the required specifications – both in terms of physical size and technical characteristics, including supplying the correct amount of water with the right back‑pressure. In addition, our project team made sure that the system was assembled and tested against a reference before final delivery.

Now that the system is in operation at the customer, it delivers stable flow and ensures that no unnecessary water is wasted.

We thank LEO Pharma for the collaboration!
